Manual Rotary Actuators

Fisher® manual handwheel rotary actuators are used in applications that require a throttling type of control valve that can be manually operated and set. Capable of giving precise manual throttling control, these actuators can be used on a wide variety of valve body assemblies. A travel indicator on the actuator yoke can provide a visual indication of valve plug position.

1077 Manual Handwheel Rotary ActuatorFisher® 1077 manual-only handwheel actuator is for use with rotary-shaft valves such as the 9500 butterfly valve; 8532, 8560, and 8580 eccentric disc valves; V150, V200 and V300 Vee-Ball™ valves; V250 valves; and CV500 and V500 valves. In this actuator, torque is transmitted from the handwheel through the handwheel input shaft to a worm and drive sleeve gear (sector) with splined bore. The worm and drive sleeve gear multiply the torque and transmit it to a splined valve shaft or splined stub shaft. The size 10-KE:6 actuator additionally has a spur gear reduction drive for increased torque capability.

1078 Manual Handwheel Rotary ActuatorFisher® 1078manual actuators are declutchable actuators for manual operation of control valves and equipment that use power actuators. The 1078 manual actuator mounts directly to Fisher 1051 sizes 33, 40, and 60; 1052 sizes 33, 40, 60, and 70; 1061 sizes 30, 40, 60, 68, 80, and 100; and to all sizes of 1066 and 1066SR actuators.

For 1051 size 33, 1052 size 33, 1066, and 1066SR actuators, coupling to the power actuator is via a flatted shaft installed in the lever or hub. The dimensions of these shafts are the same as those used with H mounting adaptations. The stub shaft fits into a square broach in the manual actuator sector, and spacers secure the shaft in the appropriate position.

Fisher 1078 Declutchable Manual ActuatorThe Fisher® 1079 manual actuator is a declutchable actuator for manual operation of keyed or square shaft control valves and equipment that use a 1032 power actuator. The 1079 manual actuator mounts directly on the 1032 actuator and can be engaged to allow manual operation of the valve when the power actuator is not in use or disengaged to allow automatic operation of the valve by the power actuator.

Fisher® Lever-Lock Handlever Rotary Actuator
Lock Lever Handwheel Rotary ActuatorThe Fisher® lever-lock handlever actuator is used for reliable manual operation of Fisher NPS 3 through 8 A41 and NPS 3 and 4 A11 high-performance butterfly valves. Spring loading secures the handlever in the notched quadrant plate, allowing the valve disc to be locked in intermediate positions.

Spring and Diaphragm

Fisher® spring and diaphragm pneumatic actuators can be “direct-acting”, meaning that air to the diaphragm casing pushes the actuator stem downward. This “air-to-close” action compresses the spring, which in turn pushes the actuator stem back up when the supply pressure is decreased or lost.

Additionally, spring and diaphragm pneumatic actuators can be “reverse-acting”, meaning that air to the diaphragm casing causes the actuator stem to move upward. This “air-to-open” action compresses the spring, which in turn causes the actuator stem to move downward when supply pressure is decreased. This is the most common type of diaphragm actuator sold, as the spring action results in a valve “fail-closed” position upon loss of supply air.

2052 Spring-And-Diaphragm Rotary ActuatorFisher® 2052 spring-and-diaphragm rotary actuators are used on rotary-shaft valve bodies for throttling or on-off applications. The 2052 may be used for throttling service with a positioner, or it may be used for on-off service without a positioner. The 2052 has an ISO 5211 mating interface that allows installation to non-Fisher valves.

 Piston

Fisher® linear piston actuators are powerful, double-acting actuators that provide accurate throttling or on-off operation for rotary control valves. They cover a wide range of thrust and travel length requirements, up through 610 mm (24 inches).

Fisher® 1061 Pneumatic Piston Rotary Actuator

1061 Pneumatic Rotary ActuatorThe Fisher® 1061pneumatic piston rotary actuator is used to operate splined-shaft rotary control valves such as the Vee-Ball™ valves, eccentric disc valves, and butterfly valves. The actuator/valve body linkage of this actuator can be positioned for either push-down-to-open or push-down-to-close action.

Additionally, the 1061 actuator can be used with a two-position control signal for on-off service or with a valve positioner for throttling service. An optional handwheel actuator is also available to allow for auxiliary or emergency manual valve operation when the 1061 piston actuator is not in use.

Fisher® 1066 and 1066SR Rotary Actuators

Fisher® 1066 and 1066SR actuators are compact piston rotary actuators for throttling (with 3710 pneumatic or 3720 electro-pneumatic positioners) or on-off applications. The 1066 actuator is double-acting. The 1066SR actuator is spring-return, which provides automatic fail-open or fail-close action. Both actuators can be used on Fisher V150, V200, V300, V500, and CV500 valves; or on 8510B, 8532, 8560 and 9500 butterfly valves.
Fisher® 480 Series Yokeless Rotary Actuator

Fisher® 480Series actuators are yokeless piston actuators that are used in either throttling or on-off applications with ball valves, butterfly valves, louvers, dampers, and rheostats. They require pneumatic pressure loading from double-acting positioners (the 3570 Series) or from on-off loading and unloading devices.

Rack and Pinion:

Fisher® rack-and-pinion rotary actuators are available in both double-acting and spring-return configurations. Spring return units provide fail action in response to spring compression. The actuator is field reversible.
